Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Brightx is run by Gold3tech in Nigeria. This page explains, in plain words, what information Brightx collects, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can and we never sell your information.

1. Information we collect

  • Your account: email address, name, and password (stored scrambled by our login provider — we can’t see it). Optional settings you add: what Brightx should know about you, how it should reply, and your reply language.
  • Your chats and files: the messages you send, the replies, and the files you attach (images, PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, code). For PDFs and Office files, only the text inside is sent.
  • Usage: how many messages and images you used today or this month (to apply your plan’s limits), and 👍 / 👎 totals (counts only, without your messages).
  • Technical information: your IP address and basic request details, used to apply limits for people who aren’t signed in, to stop abuse and to fix errors.
  • Payments: handled by Flutterwave. We never see or store your card details. We keep your plan, its dates, the amount paid and the transaction number.
  • Messages you send us through the Contact page: your name, email and message.

2. How we use it

  • To run your account, your plan and your limits.
  • To answer your messages and create images with AI.
  • To save your chats so you can continue on any device.
  • To send account emails (welcome, payment receipts, replies to your messages).
  • To keep Brightx safe: stopping spam, abuse and content that breaks our Terms.
  • To improve Brightx using totals (for example, how many replies got 👍).

3. AI providers

To create replies, your messages and attached text are sent to our AI providers — Google (Gemini) and OpenAI — which process them under their own terms. Please don’t share passwords, bank details or other very private information in chats.

4. Where your chats are kept

Signed in: in your account (our database provider is Supabase), so only you can see them and they follow you to any device. Not signed in: only in that browser. When you sign out, chats are removed from that device but stay in your account. Temporary chats are never saved. Deleting a chat removes it everywhere.

5. Things you choose to make public

  • Shared chats: anyone with the link can read that chat. Files you attached are not shared — only their names.
  • Published websites: anyone with the link can open them. You can unpublish any time in Settings → Your data.
  • Invite links contain a code linked to your account so we can give you and your friend bonus messages.

6. GitHub

If you connect GitHub, Brightx gets permission to read and write your repositories. Your GitHub access key is kept encrypted in your own browser — not in our database — and is only used when you press Save to GitHub or add files from GitHub. Disconnecting (or signing out) deletes it and tells GitHub to cancel it. You can also remove Brightx at github.com → Settings → Applications.

7. Cookies and browser storage

We use only what Brightx needs to work: keeping you signed in, your settings (theme, voice, language), your chats when you’re not signed in, the GitHub connection, and the owner’s dashboard login. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Who helps us run Brightx

Supabase (accounts and database), Cloudflare (hosting), Google and OpenAI (AI), Flutterwave (payments), GitHub (only if you connect it) and our email provider. They only get what they need to provide their service.

9. Keeping it safe

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), secret keys stay on our servers, accounts can only see their own chats, and published websites run in a locked-down sandbox. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password and don’t reuse it elsewhere.

10. How long we keep things

Chats stay until you delete them or your account. Usage totals and payment records are kept as long as needed to run Brightx and for our records. Shared links and published sites stay until you or we remove them.

11. Children

Brightx is for people aged 13 and over. If you’re under 18, use Brightx with your parent’s or guardian’s permission, and ask them before paying for a plan. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. Your choices and rights

  • Delete any chat, or all chats, in Settings → Your data.
  • Change or clear your personal settings in Settings → Personalize.
  • Unpublish websites and disconnect GitHub any time.
  • Ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing hello@brightx.app or using the Contact page.

We aim to follow Nigeria’s data protection law and to answer requests within 30 days.

13. Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For big changes we’ll let signed-in users know.
